The Project

The General Motors Lake Orion, MI manufacturing plant underwent renovations to convert its operations from manufacturing gas-powered vehicles to manufacturing electric pickup trucks. This was a $4 Billion investment and made the Lake Orion plant the third U.S. facility renovated for EV production.

The renovation included more than 3,000 feet each of Seismic Aluminum Flooring System (SFP) and Seismic Pre-Compressed Horizontal Foam System (HES). SFP provides a smooth floor solution for heavy pedestrian traffic, while HES delivers a watertight system with high movement capacity to handle Michigan’s thermal conditions.
