Andersen Airforce Base | Access Doors
Location: Yigo, Guam
Contractor: Core Tech International Corp.
The Project
The revitalization and expansion of military infrastructure on Guam required upgraded housing facilities at Andersen Air Force Base, which includes 572 military family housing units across multiple layouts. These units needed durable, high-quality insulated fire-rated access doors that could meet specialized fire-code requirements. Contractors sought products that were American-made, reliable and backed by responsive service. Additionally, the project’s remote island location posed logistical challenges for shipping and timely delivery.
Nystrom access doors were chosen as the basis of design for military projects on Guam by consistently delivering quality products. Core Tech strongly recommended Nystrom products for their American-made construction and ability to accommodate custom specifications. The project was executed as a joint venture between Core Tech and Hawaiian Dredging, leveraging a longstanding partnership that extended from Hawaii to Guam. Nystrom collaborated closely with shipping partners to identify economical and efficient delivery solutions, ensuring timely execution. By taking this proactive approach, Nystrom solidified its reputation as a reliable partner for complex, large-scale projects and demonstrated their commitment to a hassle-free and customer-first experience throughout every stage.
