Position Overview
The HR Coordinator will work closely with production management to come up with retention and engagement strategies for production talent. This position carries out responsibilities in the following areas: recruitment and selection, training, production employee relations, production performance management, onboarding, production safety, worker’s compensation, special events and well-being planning, and more.
Key Responsibilites
Essential Functions
- Conducts recruitment effort for temporary workers:
- Works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates.
- Conducts reference checking, extends job offers, conducts new-employee orientations for production
- Works with all temporary staffing agencies to ensure adequate coverage & approves temporary worker timecards.
- Develops and administers various human resources and production related programs and procedures.
- Help with leave and benefit claims administration.
- Participates in and helps to plan company events.
- Maintains organizational charts, picture directory, and update TV’s.
- Attends safety committee meetings; establishes and maintains worker’s compensation and OSHA department records and reports.
- Develops and administers various production employee engagement programs:
- Team building activities to build engagement.
- Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals.
- Helps identify techniques to improve training and/or production processes and ergonomics to eliminate non-value-added tasks and to improve the employee experience.
- Assists production management to provide work skills training and creating a mentorship program.
- Conducts production exit interviews.
- Acts as key point of contact for temporary and new associates.
- Participates in wage surveys and 401k audits
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2-3 years’ work experience in Human Resources.
- Experience with ADP and Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Visio preferred
- Proficiency in documenting processes and keeping up with industry trends.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in Human Resources within a manufacturing environment, or similar.
- HR Certification would be advantageous.
