Job Description
The Director of Manufacturing manages all manufacturing activities, policies, systems and controls for two manufacturing facilities. The director oversees manufacturing safety, capacity planning, on-time delivery while increasing quality production and profitability. Oversight of department scheduling, optimization of processes, and increased production by providing leadership, developing strategic plans, and focusing on continuous improvement. The person in this position must be a strong leader with an analytical mind, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and a positive attitude. The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for supporting and promoting the company vision, mission and core values.
Education + Training Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or related field
Work Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Manufacturing Manager/Director
- Excellence in performing: Data Analysis, Risk Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Process Validations
- Experience using manufacturing technologies, factory automation technology, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
- Excellent process development capabilities
- Business acumen and financial literacy: knowing how strategies and decisions impact financial, operational, and sales results
- Decision-making in high-pressure situations
- History of successful transformation experiences where Lean principles were utilized as part of the change and personal experience in kaizen events
- Proven success designing and meeting KPI goals, including reducing supply chain costs, improving through-put, shortening cycle time and improving inventory turns
- Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation and inventory processes
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
